Army Reserves

Anyone who has been related in any way to a prospective recruit will share the twang of my heartstrings. My youngest daughter-19yo is preparing to sign-on with the Army Reserves.

Above all, I am proud of her decision. Right next to that is the mixed feelings I have about all the rest that goes along with said decision. Nothing more needs to be said, does it?

Please keep her in her thoughts.

Do I only photograph quilt tops?

Gotta laugh! I am such a procrastinator, I only manage to snap a photo while a quilt is in the "top only" catagory. I'm always sewing the binding on, and attaching the label just before running out the door for it's presentation. Am I alone?

This baby quilt was done for a friend's newest arrival near Houston, TX. Never met the gal, but did business with her every day for a couple of years solely on the telephone. What a captive audience we were for each other, and being in the same business we shared even that in common.

(No, I have any idea why my pic is so small, I'll have to pull out that CD again and get a better copy!)

Color My World

I am just sure my photo cannot do justice to the beauty around me, but wanted to record for posterity's sake, my world. Welcome to it.

This is a view over my back fence the other day. *sigh* It's as beautiful as I feel, I'm in LOVE!

Slippin' Away...

My Goodness! Time flies so fast!
My learning curve at work has dulled a bit, I'm officially "busy". Working for a Non-Profit driven company has an interesting spin, like none I've ever experienced. I'm trying to keep my nose to the grindstone and shine with what I know the most about and I know I'll be fine. But can we hurry up that process PLEASE?

I've included a post today of a new hand project I started. I needed something to work on in my lap during lunch and evening TV time. My Grandmother passed to me the love for Cobalt Glass and her vast collection of Blue Willow China, so it seemed appropriate that I choose this book when mentioned on About.com. These blocks are now 6.5", they will be trimmed to 4.5". It is a Dear Jane style but in reverse applique. I guess it's worth mentioning that I've never done applique at all, lol...so please forgive me. Oh, and I'll get good at that too...purdy soon.

Have a terrific day!
