The $85 mistake

Looks innocent enough, right? I live on an outside corner, I was in no vehicular danger. Our driveway is the largest flattest surface to get the new pool cover laid out and cut.

The pool is 10' x 36', with an irregular shape.

10:00am and pretty toasty already, in the 80's.

Yes, I am a quilter. Actually wore clothes to HIGH SCHOOL that I had sewn (was that brave, or what?). Created Halloween costumes, made parade banners, and upholstered vinyl chairs with cording.

I am now humbled. Dang. D'oh. What a dolt.

We cut off the excess, and cut a new corner from what we had left. It works fine. We should be swimming next week (after we finish it's final cleaning).

Please laugh with me, it's hard to be me.

so? you are human, and humans can make mistakes.....
i wish we had a pool outside... not that it is hot over here but I hate going for a public swimmingpool, can't I get over for a dip in the pool?

Well, I would do the second thing you said, but I'm crying over the first. It's gonna be 40 here next week. If we're lucky.

Gee, from where I sit, it looks like you just cut it upside down. Flip it over. You can have your 80s. Ack!

If I had a pool, I would have beaten you to it.

I sure wish I could flip it, it has to be "bubble down".

When cutting, I should have had both the old and the new facing down. For whatever reason, I put the old one "bubble up".

Bet you'll never do that again! :P

And how did you resist popping some bubbles? Cuz that's the first thing I want to do any time I see air trapped in plastic. ;)

haha way to go mom!

i like the pool covers that have a mechanical roll up thing at the end of the pool. you know it stays there all nicely rolled up till you unroll the cover over the pool and and then when your done you just turn the handle and it all rolls up... yeah those are nice...

ps.. so it's 3:16pm i just woke up, grabbed my computer and was writing you and then i hear this scratching at my bedroom door.. first i get confused because it sounds like my ferret.. but it can't be him because he can't climb out of his new cage and well he would have had to run around downstairs and then climbed the stairs to find me... so i open the door and guess who! Taco at the door! weird ferret! he must have been playing all day running free! lol

I'm laughing WITH you -- honestly I am! And ya know -- I'd probably do something similar :0).

I'm laughing with you. You've either got to laugh, or cry. Laughter is better for you.
I hope it all worked out and you are swimming now.

I can see myself, trying to reverse it or try it another way, just sure I didn't cut it wrong.
